Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. As exams are fast-approaching, we must remember to keep Allah in our hearts and on our minds while we work hard to achieve our goals. Here is a page of (inshaAllah) useful study dua’s to help you through this tough journey. May Allah give you all success on your exams. Ameen.
Rabbi zidnee ‘ilma
“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Allahumma infa’nee bima ‘allamtanee wa ‘allimnee maa yanfa’uunee. Allahumma inni asaluka fahmann nabiyeena wa hifz’al mursaleenal muqarrabeen. Allahumma ij’al lisaanee ‘amiran bidhikrika wa qalbee bikhashyatik. Innaka ‘alaa maa tashaa’u qadeer. Wa anta hasbun allahu wa n’imal wakeel.
“Oh Allah! Make useful for me what you have taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me. Oh Allah! I ask you for the understanding of the prophets and the memory of the messengers, and those nearest to you. Oh Allah! Make my tongue full of your remembrance and my heart with awe of you. Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, and you are my availer and protector and best of aid.”
Allaahumma akrimnee binooril fahmi wa kharrajanee min z’ulumaatil wahmi waftah ‘alainaa abwaaba ‘ilmak. Wan shur ‘alainaa khuzzaanu ma’rifatika yaa arhamar raahimeen. Allaahumma waffiqnee fil mut’aala’ti bihallee jamee-i’ mushkilaatil masaa-ili minal kutubi birahmatika yaa arhamar raahimeen.
“Oh Allah, honor me by the light of understanding and take me out from the darkness of doubt and open upon us the doors of your knowledge and open upon us the treasure of your recognition, oh the best of the Merciful ones. Oh Allah, and give me Tawfeeq to study and solving all the difficult problems through books. By your mercy, oh the best of the merciful ones.”
Allahumma inni astaodi’uka ma qaraa’tu wamaa hafaz’tu. Farudduhu ‘allayya i’nda haajati ilahi. Innaka ‘ala maa tashaa-u qadeer wa anta hasbeeya wa ni’mal wakeel
“Oh Allah! I entrust you with what I have read and I have studied. Oh Allah! Bring it back to me when I am in need of it. Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, you are my availer and protector and the best of aid.”
BEFORE EXAM (or while studying something difficult)
Allahumma laa sahlaa illaa maa ja’altahu sahla. Wa anta taj’alal hazna idha shi-ta sahla.
“Oh Allah! Nothing is easy except what You have made easy. If You wish, You can make the difficult easy.”
Sal-allahu ‘alaa Muhammad wa aali Muhammad. Allahumma innee as-aluka yaa mudhakiral khayri wa faa’ilahu wal-aamira bihi dhakirnee maa ansaanihi shaytaan.
“Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his progeny. O Allah, I ask you, the one who mentions goodness and actualizes it and commands it, remind me of that which the shaytan makes me forget.”
FOR REMOVING ANXIETY
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being oppressed by men.”
